Results Announcement: Selected Proposals of 2023-24 University-wide Activities

To foster a vibrant campus life, we have received numerous student proposals for the 2023-24 University-wide Activities, each showcasing its own unique creativity and inspiration. After careful consideration by the Consultative Committee on Funding Allocation to Registered Student Societies, we are delighted to announce the selected proposals for the 2023-24 University-wide Activities (listed in no particular order):

Congratulations to the above students and prizes will be awarded to them. 

All selected proposal ideas will be incorporated into the upcoming 2023-24 University-wide Activities, which will be held on campus and open to all HKU students. Stay tuned for more information!

Registration of Student Societies

Under the framework of the Code of Conduct for Student Organizations at The University of Hong Kong, student societies must be registered with CCSO to have access to resources and facilities provided by the University. For further details, please refer to the Guidelines on Registration of Student Societies

Registration of Student Societies

Funding Allocation to Registered Student Societies

With the approval of the Council, the Student Activity Fee would be collected from all full-time students annually to provide support for campus wide student events and activities of student societies that have registered with the Co-curricular Support Office (CCSO) of the Registry. For further detail, please refer to the documents below:

Booking of Campus Facilities

For facilities managed by CCSO:

Registered student societies may submit booking requests for campus facilities managed by CCSO via the HKU Facility Booking System (HKUFBS). For further details, please refer to the documents below:

For other campus facilities:

  • Booking of activity rooms at the Amenities Centres and Open Spaces
    Bookings are made via CEDARS following existing procedures. More details are available here
     

  • Booking of central classrooms and event halls
    Bookings are made via the Examinations Office following the existing procedures. More details are available here(Please note that a verified student society chop in physical form is required for booking requests made to the Examinations Office.)
     

  • Booking of audio visual equipment
    Bookings are made via the Learning Environment Services following existing procedures. More details are available here.
     

  • Internal Group Booking of Sports Facilities
    Bookings are made via the Centre for Sports and Exercise following existing procedures. More details are available here.
     

  • Booking of banner and publicity sites
    Bookings are made via CEDARS following the existing procedures. More details are available here.

Booking of External Venues

For booking of external venues requiring advising or certification letter from the University, student societies may send their requests to CEDARS at cedars@hku.hk.

Use of Notice Boards

Registered student societies may post posters on any free space on notice boards managed by CCSO. The list of notice boards and their locations can be accessed here. For further details, please refer to the Guidelines on the Use of Notice Boards.

Other Services

Car Parking QR Codes

Car Parking QR Codes, issued by Security and Parking Unit of Estate Office, are provided, while stock lasts, for student societies to waive the parking fee of their official visitors who are invited for official business on the campus. Registered student societies may purchase the Car Parking QR Codes from CCSO in person at the cost of HK$20 each. For further details, please refer to the Guidelines on Car Parking QR Codes Usage.

Bulk Email Request

Student societies may submit their bulk email requests at http://wp.cedars.hku.hk/form/socbulkemail by the daily cut-off time of 4:30pm on working days. For details, please view the Guidelines on Bulk Email Service for Student Societies.

Mail Collection Service

CCSO offers mail collection service to registered student societies. Please find the accurate recipient address provided below:

Registered student societies may receive their mail from their designated mailbox located at UG1/F, Composite Building. In the case of large-size items, which exceed the dimensions of the designated mailbox, student societies should notify CCSO in advance and obtain CCSO’s agreement via email. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of such mail delivery items by CCSO.
